As a kid growing up in the country of Rush County, Brian knew that his future would revolve somehow around the agriculture side-of-things. He graduated high school from Rushville and attended college at Purdue University, majoring in Ag Systems Management. During his studies at Purdue, Brian’s area of focus concentrated mainly on the skills required for Production Agriculture, which turned out to be a combination of machinery, agronomics, and economics. After interning with 1st Choice Seeds during his college years, Brian felt a real connection with the company and accepted a full-time position as 1st Support Lead post graduation. He says that the knowledge-base he learned in college helped develop the skills he utilizes at 1st Choice Seeds now. He always tries to find the bright side in all situations and does his best to be a positive person. He is currently involved in Rush County 4-H, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and is a leader in the Rush County 4-H Tractor Club. Since he grew up on a farm and is a farmer himself, he is proud to now be helping the next generation of farmers learn safe operations and maintenance of farm equipment. He married his college sweetheart, Amy, in 2013. Amy is also a down-to-earth Rushville native. Brian and Amy are hopeful for the day they can finish re-modeling their country home and expanding the family farming operation.
